Sorìa Perricone is the result of Firriato's long experimentation and studies for the recovery of a relic vine of the Sicilian wine tradition. The grapes that give life to this wine are a second clone of this variety, carefully selected by Firriato to experiment with all the possible expressions of this vine in different terroirs and microclimates. In fact, this vine has organoleptic characteristics that are considerably different from that planted in Pianoro Cuddia from which the Ribeca is born. Firriato decided to plant it in the lands of Baglio Sorìa, in the Trapani countryside. We are also here in a hilly area not far from the Mediterranean coast but the soils make the difference, characterized by a high concentration of clays and red marls. We are in one of the areas most suited to viticulture in Europe and the wines that are born have a decidedly particular imprint, which is expressed with fresh hints of immediate pleasantness.
