Merlot – en av verdens mest dyrkede rødvinsdruer, men er som regel blandet med andre når den blir vin. Den er mest kjent som hoveddrue i Pomerol og Saint-Émilion i Bordeaux. Man finner den også dyrket i Sørvest-Frankrike, California, New Zealand og Australia.

Of sure satisfaction with the tagliolini with mushrooms and sausage, rigatoni with hare ragout and a nice braised veal prepared with the same wine. Excellent with a succulent Chianina steak in blood and with the famous Rossini tournedos. The combination with a Pecorino di Fossa is impeccable.
