Very similar vine to Nerelli, traditionally grown in the Messina area since very ancient times. It is assumed to be linked to the historic "Mamertinum" wines and to the "Zancle" wines celebrated by the ancient Latins. In the vineyards in the province of Messina you can find very old stocks. Plant of medium vigor, medium leaf and medium cluster, medium berries, with consistent skin of black-bluish color. Average maturation. The wine obtained from the pure grapes has a deep ruby red color with purple reflections, with good aromatic, full-bodied, full-bodied acidity, alcohol and tannin. It is widespread in the provinces of Messina, Catania and Syracuse.
