Four wineries, three provinces, one parallel, one thread that links the south of Sicily, east to west. Noto, Vittoria, Sambuca, Memphis. The birthplace of Planeta wines is in these four areas. The hottest, the driest of all the island, all more or less close to the sea. But the similarities end here. Because then we can count many differences: the land, the vines, the altititudine, the wind, just to name a few. Dried apricots, mango, dates and vanilla. Citrus preserves. Fruity aromas are enhanced by those of Darjeeling tea leaves, rose and mimosa flowers, ginger and sesame.
Dramatically explosive. Bursts of citrus fruit, particularly grapefruit and green mandarin. Lychee. Followed by balsamic, spicy features including lavender, oregano and ginger. Hints of camomile flower.
Typical of wines produced in the Vittoria area and its terroir. . Fruity, reminiscent of red berries, strawberries, cherries, prickly pears, dog rose and fruit drops. Very distinctive and recognisable.
