Grappa is a distillate made from grape pomace obtained exclusively from grapes grown and vinified in Italy. The brandy is derived from distilling pomace after pressing, fermented grapes or from grape marc fermented virgins after separation from musts. May have an alcohol content between 37.5% and 60% vol reached directly, in the case of the cramps "fully capable", or by adding water (typically deionized) in the right percentage and proportion to the distillate.

Young (not aged) Aromatic (derived from aromatic grapes such as Muscat, Gewürztraminer) Aged (minimum 12 months of aging in wood under ex UTIF today Customs Agency) Reserve Aged or Stravecchia (minimum 18 months of aging in wood under control UTF) Refined or barricades are terms that give no indication of stock in wood and clamps are not under control UTF.
